Liz Falconer from the Marist Formation team visited St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School to celebrate the 200th year of the Marist Awakening.
Liz led the new staff through the concept of the awakening and assisted Brother Tim with the liturgy for the children. To symbolise passing on the message of 200 years, the children were each presented with a badge.
The ‘Awaken’ theme reminds us that in the Scriptures Jesus asked his followers to be aware of what was going on around them and what he was revealing to them so that they could be effective disciples. The ‘Awaken’ theme connects with St Joseph’s theme this year about helping other people and being aware of how we can make a difference.
