Blessing of the Jarjum Garden
Blessing of the Jarjum Garden
Page Content
On 13 September, His Grace Archbishop Mark Coleridge blessed the new Jarjum garden. Jarjum means ‘little children’ and the garden received this name because it is a special place for little children to meet.
The ceremony started with the Archbishop presenting the end of term awards to a student from each year level who had lived out the values of nurture, faith and respect.
Archbishop Mark opened the liturgy and Father Michael shared the Bible reading. During the liturgy, students had the opportunity to thank God through prayer for the gift of the Jarjum garden. The Archbishop blessed the garden and the stone wall surrounding the garden where the children gather.
The liturgy was closed with a song, a blessing from Aunty Elise and a final blessing from the Archbishop.
