Improving Our School

At St Joseph’s, we continually strive to provide learning environments conducive to effective teaching and learning. From new computers, whiteboards, resources, student-teacher ratio, school officer allocation and outdoor learning spaces. Our latest endeavour in improving conditions for our students is the planning and construction of an undercover area over the existing multi-purpose court.

The new building has been architecturally designed to provide protection from the elements, enabling a sun safe play area for our students and an environment where learning can occur in an outdoor space. Stage one of the development will be to construct a cover over the multi-purpose court. Stage two will involve the construction of another outdoor learning space located between the Prep building and Tuckshop and will be complete with a mini amphitheatre, tables, and seat boxes.

The architect, Mark Gibson, is based in Brisbane and will endeavour to use trades people from the South Burnett region wherever possible. Construction will begin during the June school holidays and stage one is expected to be completed and ready to use by term 4.
