Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School

May I extend a warm welcome to you and your family from the St Joseph’s Catholic School Community.

At St Joseph’s we strive to fulfil our mission of providing a high standard of education based on the framework of our Catholic tradition. Our aim is to assist each student to reach their full potential and to continue the learning journey that parents, as the first educators, established. Our school vision is based on NUTURE, RESPECT and FAITH and it is through these that we strive to develop our students, academically, socially and emotionally, so they can be successful participants in life.

To achieve this, we foster an environment where we work together to ensure success for our students. We encourage parents/carers and community members to be active participants and we invite you to engage in school and church life. Our committed staff strive for excellence and are dedicated to achieving high standards. They are committed to the Catholic faith and model this in all aspects of school and community life. St Joseph’s staff are dedicated to the vocation of teaching and show a genuine concern for the needs of each individual student.

As members of a Marist Catholic School, St Joseph’s students are committed to Catholic Education and the values encapsulated. We achieve this through following the beliefs and values of the Patron of our school, St Joseph and the Charism of Marcellin Champagnat. We aspire to show the compassion, justice, love of children, dedication to others and strong commitment to following God and Jesus. We also seek guidance, vision and spiritual direction from the charisms of the Presentation Sisters and Christian Brothers, who have been instrumental in the formation of St Joseph’s Catholic School. We do this in light of our strong connection and respect for Indigenous Spirituality.

At St Joseph’s we have a strong community sense and the parish life of the school is an important component. Our Parish Priest, Fr Bryan’s strong presence in our school, strengthens our Catholic Identity and commitment to faith. Sacramental and liturgical engagement are encouraged in our students. Students experience a rich prayer life with participation in class prayer assembly, daily class prayer and learning prayer through Religious Education.

I believe that choosing to enrol your child at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School will be both rewarding and fulfilling, and you will experience the warm and welcoming environment where your child is at the centre of all learning.  I look forward to welcoming you into our community and working in partnership with you to ensure your child reaches their full potential.
