Camps and Excursions

School camps are an important learning and socializing experience and are part of our school curriculum for Years 4, 5 and 6.

Every two years the Years 4, 5 and 6 classes attend a 3 day camp at Currimundi Recreational Camp located at Currimundi Beach. The camp promotes safe and exciting participation in outdoor recreation and team building experiences. Some of the activities the students enjoy include swimming, canoeing, indoor rock climbing, and raft building. The Years 4, 5 and 6 classes participated in this camp in March 2019 and the next trip to Currimundi Recreational Camp is scheduled for 2021.

On alternate years, the Year 5 and 6 classes embark on a one week excursion to Canberra. They visit Parliament House, Questacon as well as many other educational and tourist destinations. The next excursion to Canberra is scheduled for 2020.

Each year, the Prep-Year 3 classes attend a day excursion, selected by the classroom teacher, to compliment the curriculum. These excursions have included Barambah Environmental Centre, Sea Life, Wildlife Headquarters, Dairy Museum and local attractions.
