Extra Curricular Activities

In keeping with the Catholic philosophy of education for the whole person, students are actively encouraged to participate in a number of activities that are extra to the classroom curriculum. These include:

  • Interschool Sport: St Joseph's competes against local schools in netball, cricket, football and Rugby League.  Schools involved are Wondai, Murgon and Cherbourg.  There are also extra games to include Kingaroy, Taabinga and Nanango throughout the season.
  • District and Regional Sport: Many students are involved throughout the year with South Burnett and Wide Bay sport trials. Many students also participate in the Queensland Catholic Netball Association competitions (QCup) held once a year in Brisbane. St Joseph's has a strong showing across both district and regional sport and we have sent many children away to represent our state.
  • Speech and Drama Eisteddfod: All students have the option of competing in the Kingaroy Eisteddfod.
  • Robotics: group meets during lunch time breaks
  • Lego: available at lunch times
  • OSMO: available at lunch times
